Day 9

Photo #9

The only place I went today was the supermarket so a pretty boring day.
My picture today is of my dressing table(excuse the mess all over it). My mum bought it off trade me about 3-4 years ago.
I'm starting to think it is a bit drab so I've decided to do it up.

I'm not quite sure of the colour scheme yet. I want to sand it back and paint it 2 different colours; one for the dresser and one for the drawers. Then I'm going to get new handles and maybe put some sort of border around the mirror.

Now... When to do it? Well as soon as I come up with an idea I'll get started on it.
I'll keep you posted...

Day 8

I almost forgot to blog my photo.... So so so so close!

Goal first... I've only lost 200g. At least it is something and I haven't tried at all.

Photo # 8

The owner of our house came around to replace our fan/heat/light thingy in the bathroom today. It took all day by the time he came and left a few times to get everything he needed.

But now here is our new light thingy...

Light: It isn't very bright and is like it's just a small torch hanging from the ceiling.
Heat: Pretty bright, and warm. Overall a good heat light.
Fan: A little loud but it rattles. It may be because it's new, so will see how it goes.

Day 7

Goal #1 Update.
Okay.. first of my weekly updates.
So I haven't really tried at all... Although I went and did a class of Zumba tonight. I wasn't as unfit as I thought I'd be which is good. But I think I should credit that to being in shows where singing while moving is a big part (and not sounding out of breath).
I'm unsure of my weight and I can't weigh myself now because I've eaten etc. So I'll have to do it in the morning and give an update tomorrow.

Photo #7
I made Banana Bread today (regards to my challenge... it's kind of low fat). It's not too sweet being a bread but is really easy and simple to make.
As you can see by the photo there was a taste testing after it came out of the oven. Then I conquered it with a knife (makeshift flag haha).

Breakfast (put it under grill then apply butter).
Snack food (eat as is)
Dessert (heat then serve with ice cream or custard)

Here's the recipe:

Quick Banana Bread
Prep time: 10min
Cook time: 20min
Servings: 4
Per Serving: 4g total fat (1g saturated)
328 calories
7.2g protein
2.4g fibre

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups (185g) self-raising flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon low-fat margarine
1/2 cup (110g) sugar
1 egg, beaten lightly
1/4 cup (60ml) low-fat milk
1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 large banana)

Method
1. Preheat ove to 220 C/200 C fan forced. Spray or line base and sides of tin.
2. Combine flour and cinnamon in large bowl; rub in margarine. Stir in sugar, egg, milk, banana; do not over mix, batter should be a little lumpy.
3. Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake for about 20mins or until cooked when tested.

Day 6

Photo #6

To be honest... I forgot about this blog today. I almost couldn't find my camera.

I have a cat tower that is taller then me. I can only just reach the top level. Anyway... It has 3 or 4 levels and a box in the middle. The cats never go in the box except the last 2 days I have found Miguel get in there briefly. When I saw him today I jumped up, grabbed my camera and snapped him in there as proof.

Weird thing is how the photo came out. He actually has golden yellow eyes. Again... weird. Maybe he is possessed and is plotting to kill my hubby! (I just wrote that to annoy him.. He thinks they plot against him hehehe)

Day 5

Photo #5
A lot of people comment on the size difference between me and my amazing hubby. I know there is a valid comment to be made but these days there are all sorts of different looking couples.

I think it's the differences that keep many couples intrigued with each other. Although in saying that it also comes down to the likeness also. It's up to each unique couple to make their own recipe, to combine their own amounts of ingredients.

I thought I'd take this picture of our hands together as I do like the feeling of safety his hand brings to me as he holds it.

Day 4

Photo #4
I forgot to take my camera to the final night of the show tonight. *sigh*
So I took up the suggestion of getting a photo of my cats when I returned to my abode. Although when the suggestion was made I (without thinking) said "I'll get one of me licking them".

I don't like to be all talk so I got a photo of me licking one of my cats... Claude was the winner. Some how I learnt that people shouldn't lick furry creatures. Hope a certain someone enjoys the picture...

I'm off to shave my tongue. Goodnight until tomorrow.

Day 3

Almost a close one again...

Photo #3

So I'm starting to see the up side of this challenge. It's really working for me. When I took my camera out (because I'm finally remembering I have one) I took lots of photos of us getting ready backstage. This is one of the things I wanted to do... document the shows etc that I'm in.

This was the first photo I took and it gives a general feel of backstage and almost everyone in the show. I do have another photo of a baby with a moustache but the only thing I could say about that is "Oh my goodness that is so funny!!"

Day 2

Learnt my lesson from yesterday and thought I'd get in early.

Photo #2
I have a show tonight which I'm performing in. I was getting ready in my mirror and realised how much of my time over the last month I've spent getting ready for shows.
Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I believe (and a few people I know agree) the time you take to transform yourself for the stage is very important. It gives you time to slip into a character and leave your day behind you.

This photo is of my dressing table mirror. It's what I see while I'm applying my stage face (if I'm at home). Plus... feather boas - how much more performance can you get!

Oh and here is a little plug for the show:
*Life in the Key of...
*Meteor Theatre, Hamilton
*Fri 11th 8pm - Sat 12th 7pm - Sun 13th 8pm

Day 1

Well it's the first day and I almost failed my challenge!
That just goes to show how much I need this.

Photo #1
My friend has a beautiful baby girl which doesn't leave her a lot of alone time. This then leads to her bathing routine... It's a combined wash of mama and daughter, no time for shaving etc.
I took this photo tonight after a while of me proclaiming how awesome her pits were!

It makes me think about how much time actually gets poured into a little ones life. I've realised how much I take for granted all of those little pockets of time throughout the day that we are given to tend to our personal needs. But when I weigh up between the thought of creating a new life with my husband and giving up the pockets it's an easy choice.

Challenge?

Okay... so I've decided to set myself a challenge and goal...

Challenge #1...
Frequency: Everyday (1 month)
I always have the good intentions of taking my camera everywhere so I can keep a photo record of everyday things. Surprise surprise... I don't!
So this leads me to my first challenge... Taking photos.
I know it seems a little easy but it's a habit that I'm trying to form.
Everyday for a month I'm going to take at least one photo of my day and document it on here as proof.

Goal #1...
To lose weight and become healthier.
I know, I know, most women want to lose weight. Well I can tell you that it isn't all about looking good. I want to reach my suitable weight and be healthy so my wonderful husband and I can start trying for a baby.
Since I met my darling loved one I have gained about 13kg! It's quite a lot considering I'm only 164cm tall. Just goes to show I'm happy (that's my excuse... hehe)

So here are some figures:
My weight: 72kg
Goal weight: 56kg
Remaining: 16kg

I don't really have a time frame but sooner the better. I'd like to put the bun in the oven before the end of the year.
I'll post a weekly update...

Getting Started...

I have found some extra time since not being employed. Maybe this, a blog will keep me occupied?

Brief History...
Mmmm... Okay so a little background first. I am almost 26 years old and originally from Australia but am now living in New Zealand. I have been married to my wonderful man for 5.5 weeks (no honeymoon yet). I was hairdressing full time but had a little trouble with my back so thought I'd give the housewife gig a go. I involve myself in amateur musical theatre both on stage and backstage. Oh and have 2 grey cats (Claude and Miguel).

Goal of Blogging...
Hmmm... My goal is to set and keep record of challenges or projects I place upon myself. If I document them I am less likely to push them to the side and "not get around to it".

A list of what I want to do...
*Get fit and healthy
*Think about having children
*Creative arts e.g. photos, sculpting
*Learn a language
*Record an album
*Compile all my favourite recipes into a book
*Perform in more theatre

I think this a pretty good starting point...
So many things to do.
I better get started right away.
